1922:NOHMURA Tent Company established in Osaka, Japan, by Kanesige Nohmura- father of Taiyo Kogyo Corporation  president Chairman and Vice Chairman, grandfather of the President.
1947:Nohmura Sewing Factory name is changed to Taiyo Kogyo Co., Ltd.
1957: Company founder Walter Bird's New York home, featuring an air-supported pool enclosure in winter, was pictured on the front page of Life magazine as a glimpse of life in the future.
1970: Taiyo Kogyo introduced membrane structures to world visitors at Expo'70 World's Fair in Osaka .U.S. Pavilion demonstrates first large scale application of a cable-restrained, air-supported membrane structure.
1975: Silverdome, Pontiac, Michigan, USA (Birdair)
1976: Bicentennial Pavilions, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
1978: Queeny Park Pavilion, St Louis County, Missouri, USA
1981: Haj Terminal, King Abdul Aziz International Airport, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (Birdair)
1984: Launch of Shade Structures Pacific and architectural umbrella range
1985: Canada Place, Vancouver, Canada [Birdair Inc]
1987: Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport, California, USA [Birdair Inc]
1988: Taiyo Kogyo completes Tokyo Dome, Japan's first permanent air-supported structure for use as a baseball stadium, and concert facility.
1989: Sherway Gardens-Phase IV, Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada [Membrane Fabricator: O C Birdair Inc]
1989: Akita Skydome, Japan (Taiyo Kogyo)
