Efficiently and Effectively Meeting the Needs of Our Customers in the Middle East

Since the 1980s, the MakMax group has been installing membrane structures in the Middle East, such as the Haj Terminal in 1981 and the King Fahd stadium in 1986. Recently, the countries in the Middle East have been rapidly changing economically, socially, and culturally.
In September 2004, in order to fulfill the growing needs of the Middle East, the MakMax group established Taiyo Middle East in Dubai, UAE. Taiyo Middle East has facilitated the creation of membrane structures for an array of applications and a variety of industries such as sport facilities, institutions, commercial, community and factories.

Just last year, the atrium at Zayed University was completed. A membrane roof that spans 10,000 square meters wide covers the atrium and creates a space with an abundance of comfortable sunlight for the enjoyment of the students and passerby's which are free to walk through the atrium while traveling from building-to-building. Moreover, the roof greatly reduces the load on the cooling system and has become a landmark in this area.

Another recent membrane roof project is the Kuwait Stadium. The standard membrane roof, which was designed, produced and installed by Birdair Inc., utilizes a cable net to create an elegant shape. The roof installation was completed in January 2007 and the final completion of the stadium structure is planned for August 2007.

A membrane roof project that is currently underway is the Cricket sport facility in Dubai Sport City. Construction is scheduled to begin in October of 2007. The production of the fabric membrane is almost complete at the Taiyo Kogyo Mizuho Factory. This project is the first project outside of the East Asian market, which utilizes a PTFE membrane with a TiO2 coating.

As always, we are constantly working to offer more service to our customers in Middle East through the MakMax global network.
