Taiyo Membrane Corporation wins at the 2007 ACASPA Awards
Taiyo Membrane Corporation has picked up two awards at the 2007 ACASPA Awards.
Held at The Hilton Adelaide, the 2007 ACASPA (Australian Canvas and Synthetics Products Association) Awards found Taiyo Membrane Corporation receiving two awards, as follows:
Category 3: Awnings: Domestic and Commercial

- Winner
- Project: The Wave Awnings
- Location: Broadbeach, Queensland, Australia
The Wave Awning at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast has been designed with the effect of waves within its architecture. In order to continue on with this concept, awnings in the same shape were needed to shade the areas of the lower floor. The structure covers all the restaurants and shops which are located on the first level of the building. The structure has now created a unique, protected dining area.
Category 9: General: Banners, flags, air supported, inflatable tents and swags

- Special Commendation
- Project: Entry Paradise Pavilion
- Location: Germany
The Entry Paradise Pavilion, weighing only 17 kg was created for the Zeche Zollverein 2006 exhibition. The structure is not considered a 'design' but more of a natural model mirroring that of organic cells and soap bubbles. The flexible material, Lycra, helps to create this flow of material for the highly impressive project.
Its lightweight frame makes it suitable for storage and transportation and its lighting and projection techniques add to its worth whilst its innovative design resembles the natural effect of cell structures.
Congratulations to all involved.
