ACASPA Announces MakMax Australia as Overall Industry Winner!
MakMax Australia was presented with 2 awards at the Awards for Excellence held by the Australian Canvas and Synthetic Products Association (ACASPA), 7-10 June 2008 at Townsville, QLD. The company was successful at winning the Tension Structure Category as well as the Overall Winner for its stunning structure recently completed in Mumbai, India.
The structure was a colorful renovation of the Mumbai Domestic Terminal consisting of blue, green, white, orange and fuscia pillars. The aim of the design was to create a welcoming, open and vibrant entry point to the airport that protects travelers from the sun, heat and rain. Adding to the structures aesthetic appeal is the way in which the inverted cones change height and width along the tunnel. This gives the structure a unique wave feeling, breaking free from standard streamlined awning projects, and the uniqueness and creatively of the MakMax team has yet again been rewarded.
For 20 years, the Awards For Excellence have recognized skillful design, technological innovation and excellence in the specialty fabrics industry. The projects created by the industry continue to grow in scope as applications for specialty fabrics advance.
Selected from 61 entries around Australia, these winners represent many of today's top professionals in the specialty fabrics industry. Entries in 11 categories were judged by a diverse panel of industry experts, editors, architects, educators and design professionals selected for their knowledge of the particular category of competition. Judging was based on complexity, design, workmanship, uniqueness and function.
MakMax Australia is proud to add these prestigious awards to their already impressive collection of industry accolades.
